Camilo Sampedro Arrubla has thirty years of experience in the practice of criminal law. He is a lawyer from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, specialized in criminal law and criminology, Master in criminal and criminological sciences and doctoral candidate in law. Academically, he has been a professor of criminal law, criminal procedure and disciplinary law at the Universidad Externado de Colombia, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and as a guest professor in specializations in environmental, notarial, customs, tax and administrative law, among others.

He has also taught at other universities as a guest lecturer and at institutes such as the Institute of Disciplinary Studies of the Attorney General's Office and Colombian Procedural Law. He is currently a judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Honorable Supreme Court of Justice.

He is the author of many works on criminal law, criminology, criminal procedural law and disciplinary law and is an outstanding lecturer in important specialized forums.


He is currently a professor at the Universidad Externado de Colombia and the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.

He has served as criminal advisor to the office of the Minister of Justice and legal advisor to the Fundación País Libre. Since 1993 he has been a trial attorney at the law firm Sampedro/Torres Asesores Legales.
